How the credit check works at Gingr

Find out how to activate pay by invoice, simply through an identity check (KYC) and a credit check via CRIF.

 

 

🧾 Why do I need a credit check?

To use "pay by invoice" at Gingr, you first have to confirm your identity (identity check, KYC) and pass a credit check.


We work with CRIF AG, one of the most trusted credit agencies in Europe, to check your creditworthiness securely and automatically.


This process is fast, secure and lets you book now and pay later.

 

 

🧭 Step by step: how it works

Here is how activation works:

  • ✅ Step 1: identity check (KYC). We check your name, date of birth and address.
  • ✅ Step 2: credit check (via CRIF AG). A credit limit is set based on your score.
  • ✅ Step 3: activation. If everything matches, "pay by invoice" is activated.

💳 What score do I need?

Your CRIF score determines your credit limit for invoice payments:

  • 600 to 700 (Green): up to CHF 2'000
  • 551 to 599 (Green): CHF 1'750
  • 501 to 550 (Green): CHF 1'500
  • 451 to 500 (Green): CHF 1'000
  • 401 to 450 (Yellow): up to CHF 500 (limited)
  • Below 400 (Red): ❌ no access to invoice payment


💡 The limit is calculated automatically. You see your exact amount right after the check.

 

 

💻 Where do I start the check?

You can start the credit check in two places:

  • In your Account Balance: go to Account Balance, then "activate pay by invoice" and follow the instructions step by step.
  • During booking: choose "pay by invoice" as the payment method. The first time, you are automatically guided through the identity check (KYC) and credit check.

 

 

🔄 What does the system show?

Depending on the status, you see the following display:

  • 🟡 Not started yet: button "Start identity check (KYC) and credit check"
  • 🟠 In progress: loading indicator and "Score is being checked with CRIF..."
  • ✅ Approved: 🎉 "Credit check successful" and your credit limit is displayed
  • ❌ Declined: information that pay by invoice is not available, plus alternative options

 

 

🧯 What happens if the check doesn't work?

You can still pay with:

  • Cash payment
  • Account Balance
  • TWINT
  • QR invoice or bank transfer to top up your Account Balance


You can repeat the credit check later if your details have changed.

 

 

📈 What happens after a successful check?

After a successful check:

  • You receive your credit limit immediately
  • You can pay for bookings or Account Balance top-ups by invoice
  • You can see your available credit limit and open invoices at any time
  • If the limit is reached or a payment is overdue, the invoice method is automatically blocked until everything is settled
