Your start in five steps. Registration, create your profile, choose a work model, upload documents, approval and visibility activation. After your first activation, your profile is visible for free for 7 days.

What to expect at each step

  1. Registration

You register with your email address and a secure password. You also confirm that you are of legal age. The process takes just a few minutes. A confirmation email is sent to the address provided so we can verify that you are the account holder.

  2. Create your profile

After registration, you set up your profile. The more complete your profile, the better it will be found and booked. You then start the KYC check. After approval, your profile is visible and bookable on the Core Plan.

  3. Choose a work model

If you want to go beyond the Core Plan and work with Secure Booking and extended payment and billing features, you can choose a work model: Employment Plan (E1 or E2) or Self-Employed Plan. Each model has its own requirements. If you are unsure, you can find the full comparison on the work models page. You can change your model later if your situation changes.

  4. Upload documents

Depending on your profile and work model, you need different documents:

    • Core Plan: Proof of identity (ID, passport or residence permit) for the KYC check.
    • Employment E1 (open-ended): Proof of identity, Swiss residence permit or Swiss passport, bank details for salary payout.
    • Employment E2 (max. 90 days): Proof of identity with EU/EFTA nationality, bank details for salary payout.
    • Self-Employed: Proof of identity, AHV confirmation of self-employment or commercial register entry.

All documents are transmitted encrypted and used only for verification.

  5. Approval and visibility activation

The gingr.ch team reviews your documents and profile. Approval usually takes place within 24 hours. You will be notified by email and in your dashboard. Your profile only appears in the grid after approval.

For the first 7 days, your profile is visible for free. After that, you need an active profile listing — otherwise you are not visible to clients and will not receive new enquiries. This applies regardless of the work model chosen. You then extend your visibility via a subscription or a fixed duration pack.

If documents are missing or there are questions, the team will contact you directly.

Frequently asked questions about onboarding

How long does approval take?
Usually less than 24 hours after complete submission of all documents.
What happens if my documents are not accepted?
The team will get back to you with a specific query. Usually it is blurry scans or expired documents that you can re-upload directly.
Can I pause the onboarding and continue later?
Yes. Your progress is saved. You can log in again at any time and continue.
Do I have to provide my real data?
Yes, for identity verification (KYC). Your public profile name is independent and can be freely chosen.
Do I have to select the Core Plan?
No. The Core Plan is the default for new Gingr profiles and does not need to be selected separately. You only choose a work model if you want to switch to the Employment Plan or Self-Employed Plan.
Can I change my work model later?
Yes. The switch is supported by the team and may require additional documents depending on the model.
Do I need a profile listing on the Employment Plan too?
Yes. Profile listing applies regardless of plan. Core Plan, Employment Plan and Self-Employed Plan all require an active listing for your profile to appear in the grid.
Can I buy a listing before my profile is approved?
No. Your profile must first be published and approved by Gingr. Only then can it be listed (more information on visibility).
How long is my profile visible for free after approval?
7 days by default. Free visibility only starts once Gingr has approved your profile.
What happens if my account balance is not enough to renew the subscription?
If renewal cannot be debited, your profile becomes invisible. Once you top up your balance, the system will try to debit the renewal. If successful, your profile becomes visible again.
