Escort at the WEF: what’s different in Davos
The companion for your evening in Davos is booked, you're waiting at the hotel, and she's stuck at a barrier. During WEF week that can happen, but only at a handful of hotels. If you book an escort in Davos, you should know beforehand whether your meeting point is inside a security zone. Luckily, for most hotels it isn't.
What changes in Davos during the WEF?
The 57th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) runs from 18 to 22 January 2027, according to Destination Davos Klosters. So far, the only security rules available are last year's.
According to the Canton of Graubünden's information on WEF 2026, there were no general travel restrictions. Davos could be reached by train and by car. However, police checked vehicles, people and luggage on all access roads, and delays could not be ruled out.
Access was only restricted in clearly defined security zones. In 2026 these were the area around the Congress Centre, Kongress Hotel and Hilton Garden Inn, the AlpenGold Hotel, the Belvédère, the ice rink, and the Lago heliport with the lake car park and lake meadow. According to the canton, all other hotels and businesses could be reached without restriction.
Nobody knows yet what the zones will look like in 2027. I'd take last year's list as a guide and check the canton's WEF website shortly before you travel. If you're looking through escorts in Graubünden for a companion in Davos, all this only really affects you if you're staying at one of these hotels.
Can an escort visit your hotel in the security zone?
If you're staying outside the zones, the usual hotel rules apply. You'll find help with that in our article on escort visits to hotels.
Inside the zone, things get trickier. The canton's information doesn't say how visitors of hotel guests get in. It only mentions badges and vehicle vignettes for people who live in the zones.
So ask the hotel directly, for example: "I'd like to receive a visitor during the WEF. How does my guest get into the security zone, and who confirms access?" If reception refers you elsewhere, the Graubünden cantonal police hotline is your next stop. In 2026 the number was +41 81 257 58 15.
If it's still unclear whether she can get in, I'd move the meeting point, for example to a hotel in Davos outside the zone or to accommodation in Klosters. There too, you'll need to check whether visitors are allowed.
What does discretion mean when access is controlled?
A visit inside the zone probably won't go entirely unnoticed. If someone at the entrance wants to see details, your private arrangement won't help much. Find out beforehand what details are required and who gets to see them. And talk to the escort before you pass on anything about her.
For her, it makes a big difference whether she knows this in advance or only finds out at the barrier. She should be able to decide for herself whether she still wants to come under these circumstances. The conversation may be a little awkward, but nowhere near as awkward as a surprise at the entrance. How to handle payment and contact discreetly is covered in our article on payment and discreet communication.
What should you clarify before booking?
The meeting point comes first. Before you book, you should know which hotel you're meeting at and whether she can get in. Only then can the escort give you a firm yes.
Send her the name of the hotel and tell her whether it's inside a security zone. If she has to register at reception or show ID, put that in the message too. That way she knows what she's getting into before she sets off.
There's no fixed lead time. Start as soon as the hotel and the evening are settled, and only book once the hotel question is resolved and she has agreed.
Because of the checks on the access roads, she should expect her bag to be opened. Whatever is inside, a police officer will see. I'd mention this briefly beforehand, even if it's an awkward subject.
The canton doesn't say how long the checks take. So don't plan an appointment that falls apart with a small delay, and agree on how you'll let each other know if you're running late.
What does a companion cost during WEF week?
On Gingr, an hour usually costs between CHF 300 and CHF 800, as our guide to escort prices also says. Each escort sets her own price. Whether someone charges more during WEF week, you'll only see on her profile.
For outcall, distance is what matters most. Travel costs on Gingr are CHF 1.79 per kilometre. The platform calculates them automatically and lists them separately in the booking overview if the profile can be booked on the platform. So 100 kilometres of driving comes to CHF 179, and Zurich to Davos is quite a bit further.
